War → Overview
I thought we were now living in an era of common sense where everyone gets on with their individual lives
trying the best they can to cope with everyday modern living! It does not seem so! More and more, we are now at the mercy of a rash of power mad politicians
whose sole objective seems to be war.
In 2003, under Tony Blair, we had Weapons of Mass Destruction and the war in Iraq. In 2011, under David Cameron, we had military intervention
in Libya and now we have Syria, Yemen, the war in Ukraine and most recently (2023 and ongoing) the war in Gaza.
What is more frightening, however, is the new Cold War with Putin's Russia and the growing threat of China. NATO is also pushing closer and closer
to the borders of Russia and no one seems to want to back down. The USA is also pushing closer to China in the Western Pacific.
We also have ISIS, Afganistan, Novichok. Tiwan and North Korea. I do not know about you, but
I am getting quite worried and perhaps World War III and the pre-emptive use of nuclear weapons is not so far away!
