This page contains details of some commonly available freeze-dried foods that can be easily purchased online. Most are orientated towards camping, hiking, expeditions etc., so they tend to
be full meals and sold in easy to carry single-serve pouches. You just add hot water, wait 5 to 10 minutes and then they are ready to eat.
In my opinion these meals are not ideal for my survival food storage as they tend to be relatively expensive and of only limited life-span, 3 to 7 years. More appropriate are the freeze-dried
foods sold in large 600 to 1000g multi-serve tins (e.g., Fuel Your Preparation) which are more economical per serving, are nitrogen packed and have a life-spans of +25 years. Such tins cover not only full
meal offerings, but also individual food components such as diced meats, single vegetables etc.
